THANK YOU

Greetings and welcome to United Way of Central Iowa’s new blog. I am a campaign manager at United Way, which means I get to spend a lot of my days out in the community sharing our story with central Iowans and telling donors how their dollars are being put to work. Since this is my first blog post I thought it would be appropriate to start by telling you the first thing I tell any group I speak to on the United Way campaign trail: “THANK YOU.”

That’s it – that is the first thing I say to groups I meet with. When I say, “THANK YOU” to a group of donors, I am saying it on behalf of United Way and our staff – but more importantly I’m saying it on behalf of the thousands of people benefiting from services made possible by their giving. These are individuals who may never have the opportunity to personally thank our donors. I am lucky enough to get to meet people we are helping, and every time I do, it reinforces the importance of your pledges and the importance of my work.

So thank you for giving to UWCI. Thank you for reading this blog. And if you ever want to send some feedback on our work or this blog, please drop me an email; I’d be so very grateful.
